Advance Voting and Voting OptionsEarly Voting
In Graham County, Early Voting may begin 20 days prior to an Election Day. Anyone may vote in advance- you do not need an excuse to vote early. *** Dates for Advance Voting may be subject to change depending on type of Election. Three Voting Options in Graham County Registered voters have the option of:
1. Vote in Person in Advance You can vote in advance in person at the Election Office 20 days prior to “any” election during regular office hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Advance Voting Locations Graham County Clerk's Office, 410 N. Pomeroy, Hill City Primary Election Advance Voting begins 20 days prior to all elections. General Election Advance Voting begins 20 days prior to all elections. 2. Vote by Mail in Advance To vote by mail you must complete an [link]Application for an Advance Voting Ballot[/b] and mail or fax it to the Election Office at (785) 421-6374. A separate application must be submitted for each election. Your complete application must be received at the Election Office before 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the election. Submit your application early to avoid delays! Ballots will be mailed beginning 20 days before the election. Your completed ballot may be returned by mail or hand delivered to the Election Office. Ballots may not be faxed. The ballot must be received at the Election Office before 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. 3. Vote at the Polls on Election Day The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. General Information from the Secretary of State’s Office Advance Voting may begin up to 20 days before any election. The exact date might vary by county. If you wish to vote by advance ballot, it is your responsibility to apply to the Election Office for your ballot. No ballot will be issued before a signed application is received in the Election Office. It is illegal for any person or group to delay or interfere with the transmission of applications from voters to the Election Office. Persons or groups transmitting applications for voters must mail. Fax or deliver them to the Election Office within two days from the time they are signed. The Election Office will mail your ballot within 2 days of receiving your application. If you receive an application with an address other than the Election Office Pre-printed on the mailing side of the application, it could delay or prevent delivery of your ballot. Your ballot may be delivered only to your residential or mailing address as indicated on the voter registration list, to your temporary residential address, or to a medical care facility where you reside. These restrictions do not apply to sick, disabled or illiterate voters. Safeguarding your Advance Ballot All voters who are voting by mail should follow these simple steps to protect the integrity of their ballot: Vote the ballot yourself. Do not let another person tell you how you should vote. If you are physically unable to vote the ballot, be certain that the person assisting you can be trusted and is NOT: with a political campaign; your employer; agent of employer; or officer or agent of a union to which you are a member. If you do require assistance, an “Affidavit of Assistance in the County of Graham, State of Kansas” mush be completed and must accompany the returned ballot. Return the ballot to the Graham County Election Office in person; or mail it personally. Do not give your ballot to someone else to return for you. Only you can protect your ballot and your vote!
