Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)




WIC stands for Women, Infants, and Children. The organization's full name is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. It's a USDA federally-funded program that provides supplemental foods and nutrition education to income-eligible pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, infants, and children up to 5 years old. WIC provides checks for nutritious foods and nutrition education to help correct and/or prevent health problems. Eligibility is based on annual income.
